A beautiful, center-placed country in the Balkan Peninsula. Amazing night-life, various foreign investors attracted by recent new spark in investment projects.
Serbian Citizenship by Investment Program is not quite the right expression for our idea, as our program is significantly different from the well-known Citizenship by Investment programs. That's why we prefer to call our idea Serbian Very Important Investor Program (VIIP). The VIIP is not open to all, it is aimed at foreign investors who, like us, want to support the emerging Serbian economy. Surely you are wondering now where the similarity to the conventional Citizenship by investment programs exists. This simply consists in the fact that according to Paragraph 19 of the Serbian Citizenship Law, it is possible for persons who significantly support the country of Serbia and thus represent a certain importance for the country to obtain citizenship of Serbia in this way.
The Republic of Serbia is a democratic European state situated in central Balkan region, with a rich and vast culture and historic inheritance. Its ethnic diversity and full equality policy made it such an attractive place and living environment for so many nations around. GCI is proud to offer its citizenship by investment program (or in this case VIIP) to anyone who is ready to invest in this country and develop it, acquiring citizenship in return. Belgrade (Beograd) is the capital city of Serbia and is one of the oldest cities in Europe and since ancient times it has been an important intersection of the roads between Eastern and Western Europe. Situated at the point of river Sava merging into Danube River, known as “the gate” of the Balkans, this city is having many cultural monuments, archeological sites and is the centre of the highest state and national institutions of culture and art: Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Museum, the National Theatre and the University of Arts.
Several countries have adopted provisions that allow the acquisition of citizenship on the basis of an investment and/or a direct contribution to the state as a means of development of the country. In other words, Serbia has approved the use of our citizenship by investment program, where an investor could gain citizenship by investment In Serbia, Art. 19 of the Serbian Citizenship Act states that the government can reward foreign persons with citizenship in the event of extraordinary merit. This may take various forms, including economic ones, and can include capital contribution or other economic benefit brought to Serbia. However, citizenship is not granted on the basis of capital contribution alone. The foreign investor must make an extraordinary contribution alongside his investment, such as bringing new technologies to the country or creating a substantial number of new jobs. This is where gaining citizenship by investment comes at full light, as the most important idea is not money, but the possibilities that can be realized through these citizenship by investment programs.
GCI UNIT Serbia advises on suitable capital contribution opportunities, liaises with the various government agencies and ministries, and finally prepares and lodges your application with the Government. As with other citizenship by investment programs, the procedure involves a thorough background check, and applicants are normally required to attend an interview in Serbia. Citizenship documents are issued after the citizenship application has been approved.
